For those who do not qualify for the VWP, the requirements for a B1/B2 visa include:

  • Proving that your visit to the U.S. is temporary.

  • Demonstrating your intention to return to your home country at the end of your stay.

  • Holding a valid foreign passport.

  • Maintaining a residence abroad that you intend to return to.

  • Providing proof of financial stability, such as bank statements, to show you can support yourself during your stay (at least $266 per day).

  • Showing strong ties to your home country, such as family, employment, property, or other commitments.
